What differentiates an ABORM certified reproductive acupuncturist from a general acupuncturist?

  • Have advanced training in western and eastern reproductive medicine

Seeing a general acupuncturist for infertility care is like getting IVF from a family medical doctor. Specialty training ensures better patient care and results.

We are trained in both eastern and western reproductive medicine. Our training in biomedicine includes reproductive anatomy, physiology, pathology and differential diagnosis as well as ART procedures and medications, recurrent miscarriage and pregnancy. Speroff’s Clinical Gynecologic Endocrinology and Infertility is a standard reference and training text.

  • Work collaboratively with you to ensure patients receive the best care possible

We have the same goal: to helps patients conceive and have healthy babies. We appreciate the skill REIs bring to this process and enjoy collaborating and referring to make sure the patients get the best care possible.

ABORM Physicians
  • Have passed a rigorous advanced certification exam

Our 5-hour certification exam encompasses biomedical principles and evidence-based research. Sample questions may include:

  1. What’s the mechanism for inhibin B and why can it be used as marker of ovarian reserve?
  2. What is the difference between agonist and antagonist medications used during an IVF cycle?

How do we help patients (and you)?

  • We can increase blood flow to the reproductive area.

  • We help patients with stress management.

  • We help improve patient satisfaction by supporting you and your patients every step of the way and helping them stay calm and positive throughout the cycle.

  • We understand both the mechanics and emotional aspects of the IVF process.

  • Our patients see us as a trusted resource and rely on our opinion to help them through this emotional time.  One of our reproductive colleagues found that patients were three times more likely to do another IVF cycle with the same doc when they were also working with a reproductive acupuncturist.
