Governing BoardRay Rubio, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. CH, DAOM, FABORM Ray Rubio, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. CH, DAOM, FABORMRay Rubio is in private practice at the Traditional Healing Arts Center in Los Angeles, as well as on staff at the Toluca Lake Health Center – a multidisciplinary outpatient medical clinic. He has lectured locally and internationally on Chinese Medicine, and has appeared on television and radio as a guest speaker on the subject of Complimentary Medicine. Dr. Rubio is a member of the American Association of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Rubio has been on Faculty at Emperor’s College since 1999 where he instructs students in Herbal Medicine and Oriental Diagnosis and supervises student Interns in the Emperor’s College Clinic He was also the founder of the acupuncture and oriental medicine program at the Los Angeles Free Clinic in conjunction with Emperor’s College. Dr. Rubio is a part of the inaugural cohort in Emperor’s College first Doctoral Program . Dr. Rubio’s specialty is Women’s Health, with an emphasis in Reproductive Medicine and the treatment of Infertility. He works both with patients who would prefer to conceive naturally, and those who will be utilizing assisted reproductive techniques (ART). He speaks to infertility support groups such as Resolve regularly. He is a member of the American and Pacific Societies for Reproductive Medicine, and is currently preparing a clinical trial on the treatment of diminished ovarian reserve with Chinese Herbal Medicine in patients undergoing IVF. Sadhna Singh , M.B.B.S(India), MSOM, LAc, FABORMSadhna Singh graduated from medical college, India in 1983. She has practiced medicine for over 10 years in the fields of obstetrics, gynecology and internal medicine. Then, as a Chief Medical Officer at a hospital, she further gained invaluable clinical experience. During her tenure in Singapore she explored various therapeutic modalities under the umbrella of complimentary medicine. She was a consultant for developing an anti-aging medicine program and Kneipp Medical Spa therapies. At the Asia Emergency Assistance alarm center in Singapore, she planned, supervised and participated in medical rescue operations in the South East Asian region. She has a vast background in both western and eastern medicine. With her compassion and concern for patients, she is dedicated to providing effective and exceptional care. Brandon Horn, PhD, JD, LAc, FABORM Brandon currently practices in Los Angeles where he is also on faculty at the American University of Complementary Medicine. Dagmar Ehling, MAc, LAc, DOM(NM), Dipl OM, FABORM Ms. Ehling is the author of The Chinese Herbalist’s Handbook, which has also been published in German. She was a faculty member at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine for five years, and served as a New Mexico State Licensure examiner for four years. Currently, she serves on the NCCAOM Exam Development Committee for the national Chinese herbal certification exam, and teaches internationally to physicians and lectures at Duke Center for Integrative Medicine in Durham, NC. Diane K. Cridennda, L.Ac., DOM, FABORM Diane continues her research projects with Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Center ™ adding acupuncture to high tech fertility treatments, IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). Her research with IVF demonstrated a higher percent chance of pregnancy, and more importantly, more take home babies, fewer ectopic pregnancies and fewer miscarriages to those women who had acupuncture. Diane’s research on Poor Prognosis IVF Patients is published in the supplement of Fertility and Sterility Vol. 81 Sup 3 April 2004. It won the Private Practice Physician’s award for Research. She presented her work to the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) in 2005 on Improvement of IVF Outcomes by Acupuncture. She has also presented her work on Good Prognosis IVF patients to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) annual meeting in Philadelphia as well as reporting to The World Congress For Human Reproduction in Venice Italy on Acupuncture: Impact on Pregnancy Outcomes in IVF Patients. Diane is currently investigating the role of the stress hormone Cortisol on the impact of acupuncture in IVF outcomes. Acupuncture is an option for infertility whether you are using high tech fertility treatments or if you want to take a more natural approach. Diane believes “We must take advantage of the breakthroughs in modern technology, but we can’t lose touch with the ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine”. Wenying Lin, MD (China), L.Ac., FABORM Wenying is also part of Craig Hospital’s Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM) program. The CAM program combines the expertise of Colorado’s top medical doctors and acupuncturists to address and treat Craig Hospital’s most difficult cases. This complimentary approach is the first of its kind in Colorado and is being used as a model for other healthcare facilities. Wenying was one of three practitioners chosen for this honor, and has been recognized for her outstanding abilities and results. Wenying is also the chief acupuncturist working on a study funded by a grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH) for Craig Hospital patients. Wenying was an instructor and clinic supervisor at the Colorado School of Traditional Medicine. The National Certification Commission certified Wenying in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and she is a licensed acupuncturist with the state of Colorado. Wenying is also a professional member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado. Wenying Lin has dedicated her life’s work to helping women with female health issues. Wenying used Chinese medicine to help her own health problems, and has an understanding of how difficult it can be to treat many common female issues with pharmaceuticals or surgery. Wenying’s purpose is to help as many women as she can naturally. Caylie See, M.S., L.Ac., FABORM Caylie balances her private practice with medical research. She is published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology and is completed a meta-analysis on the efficacy of combining fertility drugs with Chinese herbal medicine. Additionally, Caylie has taught integrative anatomy and physiology at CIIS and lectures on reproductive health topics around the country. Caylie is in private practice at Nest and on-site at Pacific Fertility Center. Her Bay Area practices emphasize Chinese medical therapies as used alone, or in conjunction with standardized methods of infertility treatment. She offers primary and supportive male and female fertility care to advance patients’ treatment options for infertility and infertility-related disorders. Caylie is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, a board member of Open Path and Vice President of the American Board for Oriental Reproductive Medicine. Dana Price, DOM(NM), L.Ac., Dipl. OM, FABORM
Dana Price received her Bachelors degree from the University of Arizona before graduating as valedictorian with a four-year postgraduate Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in New Mexico in 1999. Her clinical studies were completed with an internship in gynecology and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sichuan, China. She is a Fellow of the ABORM. Dana Price made the commitment early on to specialize in the treatment of women’s health, specifically fertility enhancement and pregnancy-related disorders. She has published material on high-risk pregnancy and delivery; presented to licensed and nurse-midwives, obstetricians / gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, perinatologists and primary care physicians and accepted residents and medical students to intern in her clinic. She is currently serving as secretary of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and is a former member of the Arizona State Board of Acupuncture Examiners and the Arizona Society for Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. She has been a faculty member at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Dana is also a member of the ASRM, the American Pregnancy Association and RESOLVE. Stuart J. Zoll, DOM(FL), L.Ac., FABORMGerald Williams, LAc (CA), DA (RI), MSTOM, FABORM Gerald holds a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego California. He is board certified in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to practice in California as well as nationally. During his extensive world travels in Europe, Africa and Asia, Gerald has explored and studied with numerous nature based medical experts. While attending the Xiamen University in Fujian China, Gerald was able to study hundreds of patients, participated in clinical rounds and practice first hand with some of the leading TCM specialists. Gerald’s clinical teaching involved patient treatment of conditions including, infertility, oncology, autoimmune and endocrine disorders. Gerald is also certified by Harvard Medical School’s, Mind-Body Medical Institute in Mind-Body Medicine, having trained personally with the institute’s director Dr. Herbert Benson, M.D. Gerald has also worked with the Scripps hospital executive health center in La Jolla California as a specialist mind-body consultant. He has been featured on numerous national and local television and radio programs. Gerald is a clinical director at the Reproductive Wellness clinic in San Diego. The fruition of his efforts is the offering of comprehensive integrated mind-body treatment and training programs specializing in women’s reproductive health. David J. Karchmer, L.Ac., FABORM As an educator, he has trained hundreds of acupuncture students through lectures, seminars and supervision of clinical training. He is also the author of several acupuncture training manuals and has published articles in his field’s top trade journals. In 2004, Mr. Karchmer left teaching to devote himself to full time clinical practice. He is the co-founder of the Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture, where he is recognized as one of the Central Texas’ top acupuncture specialists in the treatment of infertility, ovulation disorders, gynecological syndromes, and miscarriage prevention. Denise Noyer, L.Ac., FABORMDenise A. Noyer, L.Ac., board certified licensed acupuncturist, completed her Oriental Medical degree and clinical internship at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica. She received further training in acupuncture at the International Acupuncture Academy in Beijing, China. Denise A. Noyer has a private practice in Westlake Village and works closely with obstetrician/gynecologists and reproductive endocrinologists. She specializes in fertility and women’s health, and is committed to approaching each patient individually and compassionately. Her constant interest in Western medicine as well as Oriental Medicine makes Denise A. Noyer a special healthcare practitioner with a holistic approach to medicine. Marc B. Sklar, LAc (CA), DA (RI), MSTOM, FABORM (Alternate) While attending the University of Florida, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Comparative Religion, Sklar was introduced to Oriental Medicine after searching for the most effective way to recover from an illness. This experience was a catalyst to expand his studies of Asian religions to include Oriental Medicine. To pursue his interest, he explored the Middle East, India, and Nepal. Upon returning to the United States, he moved to San Diego to complete his Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Sklar has been trained and certified in the treatment of infertility and women’s health, and has studied with prominent figures in the field of Oriental Medicine, including nationally renowned Dr. Randine Lewis, and fertility specialist Donna Keefe, his mentor. He trained at the Harvard Medical School, Mind/Body Medical Institute under Dr. Herbert Benson, M.D., and Peg Baim, M.S., N.P., where he became certified in Mind/Body Medicine. To help further the profession of Oriental Medicine, Sklar has been involved on a state level with the California State Oriental Medical Association. Sklar served for three years on the board with his last year serving on the executive board as their secretary. His passion for the profession has caused him to volunteer his free time towards its advancement in the west. Having studied world religions, ancient healing techniques, and the Western medical world at large, Sklar has developed a deep understanding of the human body and spirit, and approaches his patients with an open mind, compassion, and a collaborative, medically integrative perspective.
